A year of community support: Redcliffe Homes gives back across the South West
At Redcliffe Homes, building great places means more than creating high-quality homes; it means supporting the communities around them. Over the past 12 months, we’ve continued to invest in projects, charities and local groups that make a meaningful difference to people across the South West.
This year, we are proud to have donated more than £83,000 to 31 organisations, schools, charities and community groups, helping strengthen local services and support the wellbeing of residents of all ages.
Supporting charities that strengthen local communities
A key focus in 2025 has been supporting organisations that deliver vital services to families, children and vulnerable individuals. We donated over £18,000 to the Quartet Community Foundation, helping fund a wide range of grassroots projects across the West of England, from youth programmes and community gatherings to food initiatives and essential charity infrastructure. We also provided donations of £18,000 each to Barnardo’s and Mencap, supporting their work with children, families and people with learning disabilities.
Helping local schools thrive
Across our development areas, we’ve continued our long-standing commitment to supporting local schools. In Devizes, close to our new Zephyr Place development, we funded a brand-new outdoor sandpit at Trinity CE Primary School and contributed towards Year 6’s annual theatre trip, new experiences and new opportunities for local children. In Milborne Port, we supported the primary school with high-visibility jackets to help keep pupils safe, as well as a £1,000 contribution towards outdoor learning and play.
Taking on new challenges for charity
This year also saw our team take part in a daring charity abseil, swapping hard hats for harnesses as they descended 65 feet to raise money for The Brightwell, a South West charity supporting people with neurological conditions, including MS, stroke and Parkinson’s. Thanks to the generosity of colleagues, partners and supporters, the team raised an incredible £4,700, a testament to the passion and commitment of everyone involved.
Giving back across our development areas
Beyond these larger initiatives, our teams have been active in a diverse range of community projects throughout the year. In Chippenham, support included funding Makaton training and community play sessions with Springboard, as well as staff taking part in a volunteer day. In Milborne Port, we backed ReBorne Church’s children’s work alongside contributions to the local primary school. Further north in Ashleworth, we helped local sporting events take place, including the village’s 10k and half-marathon. In Old Sodbury, we contributed towards a new bike for a local resident, helping them stay active and connected. Near our head office, we supported Turtle CYP’s free holiday play sessions, Good Times Yate, Amesbury Junior Phantoms’ football kit, St John’s Mead School’s trim trail project and the installation of new community defibrillators. Our commitment to the environment also continued through volunteer days with Avon Needs Trees and Springboard, where staff worked alongside local groups to improve natural habitats and community spaces.
‘We want to leave a positive legacy’
Jon Burcombe, Chief Operating Officer at Redcliffe Homes, said:
“Community is at the heart of how we work at Redcliffe Homes. The organisations we’ve supported this year were chosen because they play a vital role in the well-being of local people, whether that’s supporting children, families or vulnerable individuals.
As an SME housebuilder, we’ve always believed in going beyond the minimum obligations of development. We want to create a positive legacy wherever we build, and our team takes real pride in that. We look forward to continuing this work and more into 2026.”
Looking ahead
As we move into a new year, our focus remains the same: building high-quality homes and investing in the communities that make the South West such a vibrant and rewarding place to live.
