Helping local hero get back on his wheels
We’re thrilled to hear local Yate resident, David, now has a replacement bike and trailer after his original one was stolen.
David, who is in his 60s and has a learning difficulty, relied on his bike and trailer for regular trips to his allotment in Old Sodbury. It made his everyday life easier and more independent.
David is a well-known face in the community, happy to help those in need. Whether it’s sharing his knowledge of plants or giving treats to dogs, he always has time for everyone.
We first got to know David when he generously shared some of his allotment produce with our Sales Advisor, Anne-Marie. When we heard about the theft, we knew we wanted to support him — and were proud to donate £250 to help get him back on his wheels.
Thanks to the amazing generosity of the local community, a total of £1,930 was raised. It’s a true reflection of the spirit and compassion of those in the area.
We look forward to seeing David back on his wheels in his famous high vis jacket!
